AFSL maintains a database to track the results of all testing of consumer fireworks.  The following charts summarize the test results for consumer fireworks since the program was implemented in 1994.

The American Fireworks Standards Laboratory (AFSL) is an independent, non-profit corporation established in 1989 by members of the fireworks industry to:

  • Develop and maintain voluntary safety and quality standards for each classification of fireworks.
  • Assist manufacturers in improving safety and quality in the design, manufacture and performance of fireworks.
  • Provide a testing program to determine whether new and existing fireworks items comply with AFSL standards.
